Ms. Conner has extensive executive, operating, corporate governance and financial experience. She is currently providing consulting and advisory services to a variety of small businesses. She most recently served as the chief financial officer of Zix Corporation ("Zix"), a security technology company delivering email encryption services in the cloud, on software as a service ("SaaS") basis. She directed strategic financial planning for the company; managed all finance and accounting areas, including tax, treasury, risk management, investor relations, and process improvements; oversaw all human resources functions for the company; and managed on an interim basis, the oversight of general counsel responsibilities.
Previous to her role at Zix she served as the executive vice president and chief financial officer of Pegasus Solutions, Inc. ("Pegasus") from 2001 to 2006. Pegasus is the leading service provider of reservation and distribution technology, and financial and hotel marketing services in the hospitality industry, and operates from 16 offices in 11 countries worldwide. Her responsibilities at Pegasus included oversight of the Company’s global financial functions, including accounting and controls, financial planning, treasury, tax, investor relations; as well as, strategic and profitability planning, merger and acquisition activities, process improvements and cost reduction and acquisition integration initiatives.
Ms. Conner was a key member of the deal team which took Pegasus, previously registered on NASDAQ (PEGS), private in an equity transaction during May of 2006.
With 15 years of public accounting experience, Ms. Conner joined Pegasus from PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP where for five years she served as a partner in Audit and Business Advisory Services within the firm’s Technology, Infocom, Communications, and Entertainment and Media group. Susan also spent time within the firm’s Transaction Services Group.
During her career at PricewaterhouseCoopers, she served clients in a variety of areas within the media and entertainment and technology industry sectors, including a number of Internet start-ups, Internet service providers and other technology-related service companies and gained significant experience in consulting with companies as they work through start-up issues, steps to complete an initial public offering, and the transition issues that come with mergers and acquisitions in high-growth companies. Ms. Conner primarily advised and worked with highly acquisitive and rapidly growing companies.
She is a member of Financial Executives International ("FEI") and the Texas Society of Certified Public Accountants ("TSCPA"). Ms. Conner currently serves on the board and the Executive Committee for the YWCA of Metropolitan Dallas, where she has chaired the Governance and Finance Committee’s in the past. She has also served on a variety of other boards, including the WorkSource for Dallas County, and Texans Can!, dba Dallas Can! Academy. Ms. Conner received her BBA in Accounting from the University of Texas at Austin where she serves on the advisory council to the accounting department within the McCombs School of Business.
