Cynthia Pharr Lee

Cynthia is co-founder of Texas Women Ventures. She is also a Charter Investor in the fund and she is a member of the Investment Advisory Committee.

Cynthia is currently on the Board of Southwest Venture Forum and has served as a judge for the "Entrepreneur of the Year," and also periodically judges university business plan competitions. Her entrepreneurial experience includes having grown and sold two firms — a PR firm sold to a public company and a technology firm sold to private investors.

Cynthia is president of C. Pharr & Company, a business-oriented communications consultancy. Prior to 1995, she led the growth of three of Dallas' largest PR firms.

Within the PR industry, Cynthia's credits include election by her peers as national chairperson of the prestigious Counselors Academy of the Public Relations Society of America. Accredited in public relations, she was inducted into the 300-member College of Fellows of the Public Relations Society of America in 1995. She has also received a number of awards, including Texas STAR award (1989) as the outstanding PR professional in Texas and the Teich Community Service Award - Dallas Chapter of PRSA for her exemplary work in community leadership.

Currently, Cynthia serves CEC Entertainment (NYSE) as a member of its Board of Directors and its audit and compensation committees. She is also on the board of directors of Behringer Harvard Opportunity REIT II and serves on its audit and compensation committees. A former president of Executive Women of Dallas, her numerous civic boards include National Association of Corporate Directors and the SMU Cox School of Business Advisory Board.

In 2008, Dallas Business Journal named Cynthia or Pharr Lee one of "25 Most Influential Business Women" and the January 2009 edition of D CEO Magazine named her one of five "Most Outstanding Corporate Directors."

Cynthia lives in Addison, Texas. She received her B.S. in English (Summa Cum Laude) and her M.A. in English from Mississippi State University.
