Janice Davis Earns 2011 Breakthrough Angel Award

April 20, 2011

Janice Davis, a partner in the corporate and securities section of Bracewell & Giuliani, was honored with the Breakthrough Angel Award at the 2011 Annual Meeting of the Texas Women Ventures Fund (TWVF). The award honors individuals and institutions viewed as breakthrough thinkers in regards to supporting women in business.

Davis was recognized for her intellectual and business acumen, creativity for crafting solutions for issues faced by several TWVF portfolio companies and time and commitment spent helping women succeed in business.

"I have thoroughly enjoyed being part of the TWVF, both as a mentor and for the friendships made with some of the most influential women in the Dallas community. As a woman who is passionate about advancing other women in business, I am sincerely honored and humbled to receive this prestigious award, and feel privileged to be able to use my skills as a lawyer and CPA to educate, mentor and advise these women-led businesses to achieve their dreams."

Previous recipients of TWVF's Breakthrough Awards include Ray Hunt, President and CEO of Hunt Consolidated, Caren Prothro, a Dallas business executive and community leader; Don Williams, chairman emeritus of Trammel Crow Co.; and Garrett (co-founder of The Container Store) and his wife, Cecilia Boone.
