TWV Capital Management announces a $1.6 MM investment in NuZinc Holding Partners LLP

March 1, 2014

DALLAS, March 1, 2014 - TWV Capital Management announces a $1.6 million investment by Texas Women Ventures Fund II in NuZinc Holding Partners, LLP, a Garland, Texas (“NuZinc”). The closing took place July 31, 2013. NuZinc is a certified women-owned business that does metals coating, plating and finishing. NuZinc used the capital, along with new senior financing from Capital One Bank, to finance the purchase of the industrial real estate development in Garland, Texas that houses NuZinc and other industrial tenants.

NuZinc is an affiliate of KARLEE Company, Inc. (“Karlee”) and Kazam Powder Coating, Inc., each of which is owned separately by the Brumit Family, with Jo Ann Brumit being the majority owner. NuZinc plates fabricated products produced by Karlee and other commercial customers. NuZinc has 37 employees; Karlee has 450 employees; both companies are headquartered in Garland, Texas.

“Acquiring our NuZinc facility was paramont to the future success of both NuZinc and its sister company, KARLEE. We had to move fast to raise significant capital. Our relationship with Texas Women Ventures allowed us to navigate a complex financing structure to secure the purchase under the deadline. Without TWV, we could not have closed on time, if at all.” Jo Ann Brumit, CEO and owner, NuZinc and KARLEE.

“TWV offered innovative solutions to help this strong entrepreneur implement a vital strategic plan. Our solid working relationship with Capital One Bank proved to be invaluable, too. We worked quickly and urgently, and helped Jo Ann overcome obstacles thrown her way, to make this deal happen.” Whitney Johns Martin, Managing Director, TWV Capital.
